Thank you so much for the exceptional food at our wedding. Most of our friends are foodies and everyone said that it was hands down the best food they had ever had at a wedding.

We did a bus tour of the wineries the following day and everyone was raving about every aspect of the meal, it was an absolute hit! Everyone was amazed with the quality of food you produced from a wood fired oven.

We had the left overs for dinner on Sunday night and it was still amazing! We will be sure to get onto your blog and write a  wonderful review when we are back in Oz.

"What made the Cambinata Yabby Extravaganza even more remarkable than your average black tie event in the middle of Western Australia’s Wheatbelt, was the extraordinary cooking of Xavier Poupel.

With just a small team at hand (including wife Janette, it’s a family business) the French born Great Southern chef and mastermind behind Terroir & Table managed to conjure up exquisite delights such as Tammin Trout with Yabby Tempura and Poached Filet of Kerrigan Beef for over 200 guests with consummate ease…..and don’t forget, this was in a shearing shed!

In celebration of the yabby, each of the magnificent seven courses were complimented with these delicious little freshwater crustaceans with every offering different, every mouthful unique.

Thank you Xavier, and well done Sir. An evening I’ll never forget!

'Dear Mary,
I wish to express our thanks to you and your family for allowing us to be a part of your memorable event. The 2013 Extravaganza was memorable for us in many ways and we will discuss it often.
Memorable food - every mouthful was a divine experience.
Memorable company - we met many lovely people and Carlia was such good company at dinner. She and Elizabeth will keep in touch.
Memorable breakfast - it set us on our way and we had the added bonus of meeting and eating with Xavier, Eric, Janette and Nicky. In fact as Xavier was about to eat his egg and bacon sandwich, he made the comment along the lines of, "At last proper food."
Memorable scenery and flowers and other highlights of our drive to and from and roundabout. And finally .........
Memorable camping experience - the tent putting up exercise will often make us laugh but I've decided I need a "Queen of Sheba" style of tent at my stage of life. Elizabeth's 4 man (hah! - more like 1 in reality) didn't have "sit down in a chair room" or "stand up to walk out of room"  as a result I felt like an ungainly turtle crawling around.
As I said memorable and I hope we'll be able to attend another Extravaganza.

  "Where do I start...  We were planning a unique wedding at a unique venue, a venue without a kitchen...  the challenge was on to find a  caterer who could not only cope with this situation, but do it in style. Meet Terrior and Table... We first read about Terroir and Table (aka Xavier and Janette) in the local paper. They sounded like they were exactly what we were looking for.  Not only do they have a  portable wood fired oven, they also have accolades as long as your arm ranging from long table lunches at local wineries to cooking for the rich and famous all over the world.

We met with Xavier and Janette approximately 10 months before our wedding, told them how much we wanted to spend, the style of food we  wanted at our cocktail style reception and our first wedding menu was borne. In the final month leading up until our wedding we tweaked  the menu until we were happy with all our options (including catering to the special dietary requirements of our celiacs and vegetarians).

What we got on the day defies words... We were absolutely blown away by the food that came pouring out of that incredible wood fired oven at the hands of an extremely talented Xavier Poupel!  Not only were we impressed, our 80+ guests were gobsmacked! Our wedding is definitely going to go down in history as the wedding with the great  party and the AMAZING FOOD!  Not only did we get a wide selection of delicacies, we also got quality so superb, its rarely seen at  weddings of this size.  Every morsel of food arrived to each guest exactly as it should be.

 I have had rave reviews from all our guests since!  One text message  we received read "What an awesome wedding, the food was fantastic!  The best selection ever!"  One of our family members even wants to  fly Janette and Xavier to Melbourne, the Mecca of cuisine, to cater  for their upcoming birthday.

 All I can say is, if you have a function coming up and you are looking for a caterer that is reasonably priced with food that is out of this world, you can't go past Terroir and Table.  I promise you will not regret booking these wonderfully talented people!

Latro Lawyers and the Great Southern Distilling Company would like to thank you both for your contribution to our Christmas Celebrations on Saturday the 15th of December. Without your help and passion for great food I highly doubt the night would have gone as well as it did.

Throughout the evening we experienced a range of local produce from the Great Southern region. Each dish was prepared to absolute perfection and all had a unique twist, whether it be an edible dill flower or the handpicked 3 day slow roast lamb. "We had Terroir and Table cater for our wedding in February 2012 at the Cove in Denmark, and to say the food was amazing would be an understatement!

In the lead up Janette and Xavier were a pleasure to work with with an innate attention to detail. We appreciated their consideration of using organic foods, and even offering for us to source our own meat to keep the costs down. The only hard part was choosing between all the yummy options! On the night no one went hungry, with enough for seconds (or even thirds!) and we were still eating leftovers for the following week. Our friends were raving about the fantastic array of canapes and the wonderful wood fire roasted lamb, not to mention the delicious creme brulee for dessert.

  Saturday 12th February saw the marriage of some of life’s key essential elements  - an evening of divine wines, delicious French peasant fare by Xavier & Janette Poupel of Terroir & Table, and great friends,  set in the wine production area of the Rickety Gate winery; a huge success judging by the ongoing feedback received by all who attended.
